FIND OUT HOW WE SERVE BEYOND OUR COMMUNITY

KEY CLUB PROJECTS AND PREFERRED CHARITIES:
Key Clubs from across the globe work together to make a positive difference for children. Kiwanis International and its three partnerships, UNICEF, March of Dimes, and Children's Miracle Network help make our impact even stronger for children worldwide.
PEDIATRIC TRAUMA PROGRAM (PTP)

Pediatric trauma is the number one cause of death for children under 14 years of age in the United States. As a club, we organize fundraisers and service projects to raise money that will eventually be donated to fund the training of medical officials, to purchase pediatric medical equipment, and to create or expand community outreach programs. This work is all done in contribution towards PTP's goal of reducing the number of children who are killed or injured by trauma.
THE ELIMINATE PROJECT AND UNICEF

Kiwanis International and UNICEF are workking to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) from every country on the Earth. Maternal tetanus is a fatal disease that affects many women whereas neonatal tetanus is a fatal disease that kills almost 60,000 babies annually. Newborns with this horrific disease suffer excruciating, repeated convulsions and they become hyper-sensitive to light and touch. Once a newborn contracts this disease, the survival rate is practically zero.
This maleviolent disease is treatable, however MNT elimination is no easy feat. It is estimated that the projected total amount needed to accomplish this task is 110 million dollars. Every penny counts when it comes to the eliminate project because it only takes $1.80 to provide three doses of tetanus vaccine and protect one mother and her future children from this awful disease.
With 28 remaining countries with MNT, we as a club are committed to making a contribution through service projects and fundraisers.
MARCH OF DIMES

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. March of Dimes was founded by our 32nd President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, in the fight against polio. After the discovery of the polio vaccine, March of Dimes focused their efforts to improve the health of babies and has been successful with the help and enthusiasm of many grassroots volunteers.
CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) is a nonprofit organization that raises money to benefit hospitalized kids while increasing awareness of its member hospitals. All CMN Hospitals contributions directly benefit hospitals, helping to purchase up-to-date equipment, train staff, conduct life-saving research, implement outreach programs and provide health care for children whose parents can’t afford to pay.
